1. The Birth Package

My most comprehensive service - complete support from pregnancy through birth to your first weeks as a new family.

Before Birth - Building Trust & Preparation

We'll meet three times before your due date. These sessions allow us to:

  • Build a strong, trusting relationship
  • Understand your hopes, fears, and expectations for birth
  • Learn your birth preferences and create your birth plan
  • Practice relaxation and breathing techniques
  • Discuss your partner's role and how to work as a team
  • Address any questions or concerns you have

Between meetings, I'm available 24/7 by phone, text, or email for any questions or worries. I'm on call for you two weeks before and two weeks after your due date, ready to join you within 60 minutes of your call when labour begins.

During Labour - Continuous Support

When you contact me that labour has started, I'll be with you as soon as possible. I will:

  • Stay with you throughout your entire labour, regardless of duration
  • Provide continuous physical, emotional, and informational support
  • Help create a calm, safe, and nurturing environment
  • Use comfort measures like massage, positioning, breathing techniques
  • Encourage and support your birth partner to participate meaningfully
  • Advocate for your wishes and help you communicate with medical staff
  • Remain with you until after birth to ensure you're settled with your baby

Whether you're birthing at home, in a birthing centre, or in hospital, I adapt my support to your environment and needs.

After Birth - Postnatal Care

After your baby arrives, I make two postnatal visits to:

  • Debrief your birth experience and process your emotions
  • Provide practical support with baby care
  • Offer breastfeeding support and encouragement
  • Be a listening ear during this life-changing transition
  • Take photographs of you and your new baby (if you wish)
  • Prepare a placenta smoothie (if requested)

2. Birth Pool Hire

If you're planning a home water birth, I can provide a professional inflatable birth pool. Water birth can provide excellent pain relief and is a gentle way for your baby to enter the world.

The birth pool is clean, safe, and specifically designed for labour and birth. It's easy to set up and provides a comfortable, spacious environment for you to labour in water.

£75 plus the cost of a new pool liner and hose

Note: Birth pool hire can be combined with the Birth Package for comprehensive home birth support.

3. One-to-One Birth Preparation Sessions

About Placenta Smoothies

If you're interested in placenta encapsulation or consumption, I can prepare a fresh placenta smoothie for you shortly after birth. This involves blending a small piece of your placenta with fruit to create a nutrient-rich drink.

Some families choose this option believing it may help with:

  • Milk production
  • Energy levels
  • Hormonal balance
  • Postnatal recovery

This is entirely optional and discussed during our prenatal meetings if you're interested.

Affording Doula Care

Doula UK Hardship Fund

As a member of Doula UK, I have access to a Hardship Fund designed to assist families who might otherwise be unable to afford a doula. If you're facing financial challenges, please visit this link for further details about applying.

Payment Plans

If you don't qualify for the hardship fund, I'm happy to arrange a flexible payment plan to make doula care more accessible. Please don't let cost prevent you from reaching out—let's have a conversation about what's possible.

Gift Vouchers

Consider asking friends and family for Doula UK gift vouchers instead of traditional baby shower presents. Having a doula can be more valuable than another toy or outfit. Many families have successfully crowdfunded their doula care this way!
